Todays update is relatively minor which has a host of bugfixes but they assure within their official blog post that coming weeks will bring more significant and exciting additions for the beta.They also mentioned July 21st as being a rough date for when they be prepared to begin allowing CSGO preorders for that August release and confirm that CSGO will indeed see an open beta where everybody is able to try it before purchasing sometime between that preorder date and release monthly later.
